Franklin is a seasoned accounting and finance executive based in Eastern North Carolina, with more than forty years of executive leadership in manufacturing, accounting, and finance. He holds a B.A. in Accounting from North Central College and received his CPA certificate from the State of Illinois. He is a former Certified QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor.
Over the course of his career, Franklin has served as Chief Financial Officer, Executive Vice President, and Vice President of Finance and Operations, leading three management buyouts in three different industries, capital projects exceeding thirty two million dollars, plant startups and relocations, enterprise software implementations, and major cost reduction programs. Though retired, he remains open to accounting and operations consulting engagements on a contract basis.
After four decades of creating and interpreting financial information, running capital projects, and telling management at all levels the truth about what a plan actually costs, Franklin turned that same discipline toward a different question: what would it cost to guarantee every American a basic floor of economic and social security, and could the country actually afford it.
8 HARPS, which stands for Eight Human Absolute Rights and Privileges, is the result: the 11 Franklin Amendments to the United States Constitution, each one written in the formal language of a constitutional amendment, each one priced out against a complete federal budget model with disclosed assumptions and real revenue sources.
